What this covers
This explains the cookies and similar technologies (like localStorage) that Hmong Network and the tools we use set when you visit the site.
Strictly necessary
Sign-in sessions use a cookie so you stay signed in as you move between pages — this one can't be turned off without also turning off the ability to stay signed in.
Some in-progress preview features on this site (your cart, saved bookmarks, draft coupons and campaigns) are stored in your browser's localStorage rather than a cookie. Functionally similar to a cookie for privacy purposes, but not sent to our servers with every request the way a cookie is.
First-party analytics — no consent needed
We use a cookieless, privacy-focused analytics tool to understand overall site traffic. It doesn't use a tracking cookie and isn't tied to your identity.
Each business listing page also records aggregate counts of views and contact actions (phone taps, direction requests, and similar) — this is designed to record that an action happened, not who took it, and doesn't use a cookie tied to you either. Neither of these requires your consent under cookie-law frameworks like the ePrivacy Directive, because neither stores or accesses anything on your device to identify you.
Optional: a business's own analytics
If a business owner connects their own Google Analytics account to their listing, visiting that listing page can set a Google Analytics cookie forwarding your visit to that business's own property. This only happens after you make an explicit, revocable choice in the consent banner shown on that page — declining keeps our first-party analytics working normally and simply skips the forwarding.
Advertising
Pages with a Google AdSense placement may set third-party advertising cookies, subject to Google's own cookie and consent practices. Where required, we'll ask for your consent before these load.
Your choices
You can decline the optional analytics-forwarding consent banner shown on a business listing page at any time — your choice is remembered for future visits. Most browsers also let you block or delete cookies directly in your browser settings; doing so may sign you out or reset preferences that rely on localStorage.

If we add or change what we use, we'll update this page.
